Feels like all I’ve been doing is sitting around paying bills and taking a local walk or hike here and there. I love a good campfire, but I’ve had too many inside a fenced-in area. I’m tired of sitting around daydreaming about adventures. At this point, I think I need a break. Walk away from the stress of discontent, put the phone down, get up from the computer, leave the mail, and take the dog. Pack some beans and a pot, bring a little bread, tie my bandana around my neck, and button up my jacket. A good book and my guitar provide endless inspiration. It’s simple and hard, scary and fun, certain and uncertain, lonely and free…it’s everything I need.
I want to climb to the top of the mountain peaks and feel the cool, crisp air on my face. Relish in the accomplishment of making it to the top and know there’s a long journey still ahead. I want to walk along the packable sand without caring if my pants get wet from the salty swoosh of the ocean’s arms. Take notice of all the tiny creatures rising to the surface of the shallow waters only to dive back down again into their breathable waters. My purpose is to observe and write with intentional detail describing all the stories going on around me.
Inspired by what my life could be, I’m done with the HOA life, and looking beyond the 9 to 5 office life with minimal time outside. I am going to flip it around and have minimal time inside. It’s go time before it’s too late. This is a rebranding! A challenge to myself to face the music and get out there. I get to decide. I say “Yes” to the call of my wild.
